CubCrafters supports Ukrainian refugee relief

CubCrafters is known for modernizing the Piper Cub, producing airplanes such as the XCub that have established an enthusiastic following and customer base in North America and Europe. Less well-known to many pilots, the company has maintained a European headquarters in Rzeszów, Poland, just over 60 miles from the border with Ukraine, since 2012.

With millions of refugees fleeing the fighting that has followed the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Poland and other European nations have mounted both public and privately organized efforts to assist refugees with housing, food, and other necessities. CubCrafters announced March 9 that the company has joined that effort.

The company seeks contributions to support these efforts, and noted in the press release that all funds raised will be used to provide food, shelter, clothing, and other care for Ukrainian refugees, the majority of whom are women and children, and “can ensure in real time that any funds raised will go to meet the most necessary and urgent humanitarian needs for these refugees.”

“The generosity in the aviation community for a good cause is always impressive,” said Brad Damm, CubCrafters vice president. “We had barely started this effort, just put it out on our Facebook page, and we quickly received over $10,000. We’ve set a goal of raising $100,000 for refugee relief, and I think we will make that amount or even more. I’m challenging my friends to just donate the value of a tank of fuel for their airplane. It’s something we can each feel great about doing.”
