It also marks a month when many of us determine our year-end tax and financial strategies, important decisions that can get caught in the holiday madness. But unlike that pair of socks or matching robes, financial decisions have far-reaching implications and should be considered carefully. At the same time, it’s important to support those things that are dear to our hearts and have contributed greatly to our lives and communities—like the passion for aviation.
Contributions to the AOPA Foundation fund programs that membership dues don’t cover, including the AOPA Air Safety Institute and You Can Fly program. The AOPA Air Safety Institute provides a wide variety of educational content to keep pilots and their aircraft safe, while You Can Fly initiatives serve to get more people in the skies and keep them there.
The foundation’s goal is to fund opportunities of growth for every AOPA member and the entire general aviation community.
The foundation offers several avenues for members to give back to a passion that has given so much to each of us. Options include a one-time or annual gift, as well as a means to remember GA in one’s estate plans through the Legacy Society.
“The beauty of the AOPA Foundation is that it allows members to support general aviation in a way that fits their unique financial situation,” said Elizabeth Tennyson, senior vice president of the AOPA Foundation. “Supporting the foundation is a win-win for the donor and GA.”
Happy holidays from the AOPA Foundation and best wishes for a fulfilling 2022.
